Just to clarify how Tim Henderson and Allen Damron's song, Come to the Bower, came to be called that. Their song is actually about the battle of San Jacinto. According to historical legend, as Sam Houston's Texicans went into battle, several musicians (with penny whistles and whatever) were playing a version of the old ballad, Come to the Bower, so this song is called Come to the Bower. Allen recorded this song several times. It is available on CDs through his Allen Wayne Damron website. Another great song that Tim and Allen wrote together about Texas history is The Gringo Pistolero. Allen also did a sensational recording of this song, also available on CDs on the Allen Wayne Damron website. Best regards, Marian
