Remi from Paris Lyr/Chords Req: William McCrea (12) RE: Lyr/Chords Req: William McCrea 05 Jan 00

To John Moulden

Thanks for your help. As a Frenchman and lover of Irish music I have to stress that I am an absolutely non sectarian person. I think that Mr Mc Crea deserves respect as anyone else, although his views might seem a little bit narrow to a foreigner, to say the least. I liked the song because it's funny, and I hope Mr Mc Crea found it funny too if he heard it. If not, he lacks humour. I have deep respect for David Trimble for : 1 not having been killed by fanatics of his own camp 2 sitting at the same table that Gerry Adams and Martin Mc Guinness - peace is to be made between enemies, not friends, as they say...

then the song about him is funny too. In all, I can sing Kevin Barry, but I have a quite nice rendering of the "ould orange flute" as well. I'll be delighted to snail mail this request to you if you send your address to me

P.S. : and if you come to paris, check in at the Quiet Man, 5 rue des Haudriettes, 75003, prods and taigs and frogs and scots, all of them welcome - even Man U supporters , three to four sessions a week.
