bobert, my set list includes zero originals, as I have no intention of boring my audience with a lot of navel gazing folkie style pablum. What I do play is a lot of country and a lot of folk, from standards written by Tom Paxton to Cowboy Jack Clement. From a standard such as Abilene to the San Francisco Bay Blues. From Rockabilly to a Dean Martin standard. It's about engaging an audience and drawing them in. It's about hootenanies from the 1960s to WSM radio, the country music you grew up with. Set lists change and set lists should constantly evolve. I do not sing lyrics like: "I got the old black man blues, because I am old and black."
