Yakit - Throw it. An ex-teaching friend insists this is a coruption of Latin which shows the erudition of those in Leicester.
Slight drift but relating to things said above.
The Leicester dialect is probably the worst I have heard [Born and bred me duck]. It is, however, very easy to speak.
Start your sentance, run all the words together and make no attempt to pronounce anything!e.g.
Sheantgorracoatorowt, soegissererisn.
The above is still used as a shiboleth by 'genuine' Leicesterians.
