OB is due all the respect he deserves from a fellow-Canadian. But I keep remembering that he has consistently changed the words of songs without indicating what he's done - which to my mind is less than scholarly. A.P. Carter, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Utah Phillips and countless others have done the same. It's what Pete calls "the folk process."
