And all these years I've thought it was a Huddy Ledbetter tune (although I too remember the Bessie Smith version as the best). Thanks all, for the clarification, information, and elucidation. (Before I found this place I used to think that I knew something about folk music...)

By clicking on the Thread Name, you will be sent to the Forum on that thread as if you selected it from the main Mudcat Forum page.
