Mo was right - it was a team of Ukrainian dancers who ended up in Chippenham in Cambridgeshire, but that was a few years ago now. However, Snuffy is also right - Chippenham Morris did pull that fast one on the Chippenham Organisers more recently, and very cleverly - brilliant scam fellas.

The origin of the name of Chippenham in Wiltshire is not 'cheapen-ham' even though Chippenham has for many years been a market town. The origins come from the Saxon name 'Cepen' one time Lord of the Manor or area of what is now Chippenham - the name also given to the large estate now on the northern side of the town - Cepen Park.

I was with Bob and Gill Berry on Monday night (a wonderful Burns Evening at Devizes Folk Club with a surprise visit from Keith Kendrick). Plans are advancing well for the Chippenham Festival and it looks like being another great year. Hope to see lots of 'Catters' there.
