TinkerandCrab Chanteys in NYC! Saturday 2/4/06 (16) Chanteys in NYC! Saturday 2/4/06 30 Jan 06

Date: Saturday, February 4, 2006
Time: 7:30 & 9:00 PM
Place: The Tavern at Historic Richmond Town, in Staten Island.   Click for map & directions
How much: $15 per person.

Join us in the unique atmosphere of the candlelit, woodstove-heated, 19th century tavern in Historic Richmond Town and hear Songs of the Sea & Taverns, aka "The Richmond Tavernacle Choir", featuring… drumroll….

DAVE KLEIMAN -- originator of the chantey program at South Street Seaport Museum and the founder of the Traditional Music of the Sea Festival at the Mystic Seaport Museum. His stories, songs, humor and instruments transport us to the days of wooden ships and iron men.

COMPASS ROGUES (Frank Woerner, Jan Christiansen, Bob Conroy and Greg Bullough) -- a quartet steeped in the lore and love of the sea, accompanied by button accordion, concertina, guitar and banjo.

NEXTRADITION (Alison Kelley & Ken Schatz) -- a duo who perform songs with driving rhythms and roaring choruses!

HEATHER WOOD -- a seminal player in the Anglo-American folk revival and an original member of the British a capella group The Young Tradition.

…And whomever else we can get to come on out to Staten Island!

Please call (718) 351-1611 x 281 for information.

cheers, Catherine
