the new benefit cd - Hands Across the Water - has a nice version of Johnny's Forty Shades of Green, done by Rodney C - the lyrics on most of the net sites are wrong, but Rodney may have changed a few - but I doubt there was ever a Nashville song before or after that mentioned draining bogs or gleaning thatch!! So some confusion may be understandable. There's also a John and Fiona Prine song and a great Cerys Matthews song in Welsh and English!! You can listen to the cd in full at CMT.com. Chris yn Wheaton
