Dear Stilly River Sage, I've now gone back and re-read the chapter on post-modernism/structuralism in Francis Wheen's book - 'How Mumbo Jumbo Conquered the World' (Harper Perennial, 2004) and it seems like a pretty convincing demolition to me - but then, as you would no doubt agree, everything is relative and it is impossible to determine the true worth of Wheen's book. Maybe you could read it, deconstruct the text and let me know what it signifies ... ? By the way, what comes after 'post-modernism'? 'Post-post-modernism' ... and after that 'post-post-post ... ? DB
