When our "local" was refurbished some years ago ,the new bookshelves in the alcove by the fireplace sported a tantalising array of classics and Sunday School Attendance type volumes.Closer inspection revealed a tiny printed notice declaring ," These books are not for reading." Too right. The buggers had stuck them all together,pages, covers, the lot! Wouldn't do to detract from the endless piped music and glaring television screens would it?!
