My partner, who was associate editor of Hit Parader, Song Hits, Country Song Round-up, Rhythm & Blues and Rock'n'Roll magazines in the early 60s, assures me that Hit Parader always had the "r" at the end of its name. The other magazine may therefore be a different species! (could it be a Brit version, like Sing! was to Sing Out!?).

The parent company of Hit Parader was Charlton Publications of Derby, Connecticut. It was founded in the 1940s, and published lyrics for the homesick GIs during WWII.
