I am from Glasgow. I fully recognise the limitations of the place, e.g. if you are on a night out you have to be careful in case someone starts to ask " what are you looking at?" and a fight follows. We are , however, a friendly people and if you are waiting at a bus stop with a wee woman beside you you will probably find it difficult NOT to get into a conversation with her. I live in Spain, however. In this town ( some / lots of ) folk that I have known for nearly 15 years will do just about anything to avoid eye contact with you so they don't have to say "Hello". I noticed the difference today, when some British tourists that I had seen in one street said hello to me in the next street. The locals would never do that. So what's it like where you live ?
