I wholeheartedly agree with Song for Ireland for the Irish list. It should probably have "You're not Irish (you don't know Danny Boy)" as well. A few for the American list would be Christmas in the Trenches; Just a Few More Days (Carter Family); 6 O'Clock News (Robin & Linda Williams); The Lonesome Road Blues, The Car Song(Woody Guthrie), I'm My Own Gran'pa.
