Sorry Jerry, I must have misunderstood you. But if you're including bluegrass and old-time, there are a huge number of groups now; more than ever before, I would guess. I just think that, where we used to think in terms of "folk" groups, now everything is fragmented into sub-genres, and we'd be more inclined to say "no, I don't mean Celtic; I mean folk!" Since each sub-genre takes a piece of the total pie, the remaining unclaimed piece looks that much smaller. See what I mean? I'm enjoying the responses, too. ?In fact, I always enjoy your threads.
