Yes, Rab did write many terribly sad songs about the oppression and poverty of the Scottish people. He knew all about poverty as he was dirt poor all his life and he hated certain members of the aristocracy who he felt sold Scotland out to the English. But he wrote some hilariously funny songs too. Traditional Scottish instruments include the whistle, bodhran and fiddle.
