How sad. I was listening to a live recording of a "Home Service" gig from circa 1987, when I read this post. What a master Howard was, a true pro who held the whole thing together with a great understanding of the material, and a real empathy with the rest of the band. "The Master", as John Tams referred to him on that recording. Deepest sympathy to family and frieds. Ian Nottingham
