Leeneia, There are at least 3 different versions of Windows XP out there, the Home Edition, the Professional Edition, and a Media Edition, which I seem to have been shipped on a new hp Pavillion laptop. As I understand things, and I'm not a Windows XP geek, the Home Version is a bit more bare bones , while the Professional Version has more bells and whistles. The Media Version that I seem to have has a bit more audio stuff, or perhaps that's the way hp set it up. Windows Explorer has to be there, for other things to operate, and I think you've gotten some good suggestions on how to find it. In my setup, if I right click on the Start button, and then on the Explore option, I go right into Windows Explorer. If you left click on the Start button and then click on All Programs, you should find a listing of every program on your computer, including your old MIDI program it it hasn't been taken off your hard drive. You may also find programs that will work with both audio and video files. Mine has them, and I certainly didn't put them on this machine. Good luck, Dave
