ELizabeth 1 is an more than interesting character to portray because she can be lit in so many ways according which aspect of her persona - regal or private - is chosen for illumination. Glenda did it one way and Helen is doing it another. Both equally well. Whichever you go for the complexities, political power struggles and intrigues of Elizabethan Court life make for fascinating stuff.
