The first person I heard sing this song was Hughie Jones of The Spinners in a long defunct Liverpool folkclub ( not only the folkclub is defunct, but also the pub it was held in!!). I thought Hughie sang it really well. I think A L Lloyd sang it also. And hasn't Seth Lakeman done a "job" on it?
