Tony Benn couldn't count as a champagne socialist - he's teetotal! Nye Bevan was nearer the mark, working class roots or not. He wanted a process of levelling up so everyone could enjoy a good life. As for Blair, Mandy and all ... well, they're not socialists anyway, so it doesn't matter how champagne their lifestyle is.
