I agree with Bonnie. After several years firing NATO 7.62 down the range and even longer working with noisy machinery I knew I had lost some, mainly high frequency, hearing. However, I was tipped over into permanent Tinnitus after a friend's 50th birthday bash. Entertainment was one girl vocalist with one guitarist and his backing tape. The noise was so excessive I asked the performer about her hearing. She openly admitted she had tinnitus herself!!
