Doc Watson recorded this song several times in the 60s and 70s. He was the first person I heard singing it. I always thought his was the definitive version. There's a great CD called "The Best of Doc Watson" C 1999 Vanguard Records, where he has his son Merle accompanying him. The flatpicking guitar on this album is wonderful!
