Real ale and folk music are fairly well linked in the UK, I think, most clubs and sessions being pub-based. You wouldn't think beer needed all that much promotion, but clearly it does. My own little village of Wedmore has its own annual Real Ale Festival with around 40 real ales on offer, and some live music (blues, jazz and rock rather than folk) attached.
