How about King Henry-the old hag in the haunted hall turns out to be not so bad when he "gives her all her will". I think this may be related to the Arthurian Loathly Bride where Gawaine marries the incredibly ugly woman to defend Arthur's honor. Am enjoying this thread- thanks fols Julia
