Ruston Hornsby Start a session In Lincoln? (52* d) RE: Start a session In Lincoln? 15 Jun 06

One thing that's been puzzling me for a while since I've seen mention on various forums of "slow/learning sessions".....is the idea then to learn the tunes and then play them as fast as you can regardless of what you're playing - or is the term "session" being applied here when "Irish" or, rather "Fast and Furious Celtic" should really be applied(?) Being very much English rather than Celtic/Scottish etc in my folk taste, I think it's important to at least give an indication of what type of session you are looking to start so people know what they're letting themselves in for.

And as far as Soldier's Joy is concerned, Gerry, I think we managed to find the exception to "usually sounds good" rule on the occasion in the distant past...
