Mitch the Bass ANN: Jon Boden in Concert, Ashbourne (1) ANN: Jon Boden in Concert, Ashbourne 15 Jun 06

MONDAY JULY 3rd at The Beresford Arms Hotel, Station Road, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, UK.
'3 in the Round' Concert Series With Special Guest Jon Boden.

Every now and again a young regenerative performer pops up on the folk revival scene and almost literally blows everybody away – thereby validating the earlier blueprints of the 60's and 70's (like: Bellamy, Carthy, Swarbrick, Kirkpatrick and of course, the Watersons) that influenced them, but bringing with them originality, inspiration and plain raw talent.

Jon Boden is among the most convincing of these arrivals over the last ten years. With his performing partner John Spiers and their exciting BBC Award winning big band 'BELLOWHEAD!' he/they have taken the music literally by storm in the last 3 years or so.

Jon is not simply a 'folksinger/musician' though that he certainly is - he's also a highly respected and prolific song writer and theatrical score composer!

Using fiddle/concertina (and with panache!), Boden's extraordinarily expressive and acrobatic vocal style, plus his highly percussive foot-tapping dance technique (which he uses to great effect as he sings, plays and jigs all at the same time), will have you spellbound and shouting for more – this is indeed a rare chance to see and hear this 'One Man Folk Powerhouse' – SOLO! Don't miss it….….

Jon will be sharing the front line with your Hosts for the event:
Keith Kendrick & Sylvia Needham

and unbeatable Derbyshire Duo:
Sarah Matthews & Doug Eunson

Starts at 8pm (Doors open 7.30pm)    Finishes at 10.30pm
Entry:   £10.00 (DHTMC and MUMPERS members £8.00)
For seat reservation and other details please contact Keith:
