How sad it was to hear of the passing of one of the world's greatest pearl and abalone artisans, and a great guy, too. Larry did the exquisite inlays on two guitars of mine--a 1980 Gurian (with a modified Whyte Ladie pattern), and a custom-built Ovation 12-string. His attention to detail was unparalleled, and his patience with crazy musician equalled that of Job. He will be sorely missed. Caryl P. Weiss
