The title of the tune is "Morningtown" and the lyrics, as I used to sing them to my own children, are as follows:

Train whistle blowing makes a sleepy noise.
Underneath their blankets go all the girls and boys.

CHO: Rocking, rolling, riding, out along the bay
All bound for Morningtown, many miles away.

Daddy sounds the whistle, Mummy rings the bell,
[Child's name] swings the lantern, to show that all is well.

CHO

Maybe it is raining, where our train will ride.
All the little travellers are warm and snug inside.

CHO

Somewhere there is sunshine, somewhere there is day.
Somewhere there is Morningtown, many miles away.
