Will WBAI-FM or WNET-TV be airing the "Woody Guthrie Birthday Bash VI"? I've noticed that PBS has been airing music documentaries in recent years that seem to pay tribute to a "sanitized" image of Woody Guthrie and imply that Woody Guthrie's musical legacy is being now reflected in the same U.S. corporate music industry that blacklisted Guthrie in the late 1940s and early 1950s. So there would seem to be a political need for PBS to allow some equal time for U.S. musicians who aren't part of the U.S. military-industrial-media-music industry complex to present an alternative view of what Woody Guthrie's musical legacy actually is.
