I am thrilled to find this site tonight. May I tell you a short story of my "Alice Blue Gown"? When I was small, 6 or so, my Auntie Mid came from California by train to visit us country kids in S.C. She lived in Hollywood, was musical, she danced, acted, commercials, owned dress shops, went to acting school in the 20's. She was our "movie star" and we loved her so. She taught my sister and me the song, "Alice Blue Gown". It was wonderful, I remembered all the words, I remember standing in front or our fireplace, Auntie Mid playing the piano and us singing the lovely little song. I an 58 now and looking back on special memories, this is a sweet one. Thank You.
