My last kitty (died two years ago) was hopeless at small bird catching (to my relief). He was mammal specialist with a few sidelines, and brought me, over twelve years: moths, june bugs, a bat, a baby otter (live, likely abandoned, rehabbed succesfully by wildlife facility), rabbits (he was rawther beaten about by the first one), squirrels by the dozen, mousies in their infinite variety (house, deer, field, etc.), a large partridge, a mole, various shrews, a frog (which he did not like), several small snakes (unfortunately)and one live salamander. Since he died, we've had squirrel and mouse problems regularly. He was a useful and fond companion, much missed.
