My daughter wrote this epitaph for the old boy - thought I'd share it:

Friends,

Irrepressable devil, Shadow Alley-Cat, departed the planet for good this morning.

May his eternal days be spent with endless supplies of giant water rats, tiny helpless bird to torture and other kitties to terrorise.

As well as warm laps to curl up in, nimble fingers for chin scratching and chewing on. And some one loving to pick him up so he can drool obscenely on them.

May his dark shadow bless our anti-social moments, meaningless (yet endearing) aggression, broodiness and slightly bizarre behaviour.

He will be deeply missed by fellow dark moody soul and confidante of nineteen years, Keera.

And by caretaker, love giver, and Chicken from Charlie?s supplier, Pam.

Rest In Peace.
