...we got twitchy keyboard fingers. Here's a link to folk stuff: Calgary Folk Listings
We got museums: Scroll down for the Gopher Hole Museum. That Gopher Hole museum is further east, though, geographically, and way off the map aesthetically.
Also check out MacKay's ice cream in Cochrane. Used to be a Sunday ritual to drive out there from Calgary.
Half an hour up the road in Water Valley is the Water Valley Celtic festival every June. Banff is around an hour west of Cochrane. Panoramic vistas to be sure, but also the Banff Centre for the Arts is there, with scads of interesting programming and concerts. Canmore is a bit closer, and the folk fest there (coming up this weekend, is a great little celebration in a beautiful setting. Canmore has the Highland games coming up in the fall. Mass pipes playing Amazing Grace in a swirling mountain rainstorm. Fills the heart.
Also, we got hockey. And oil money. Lots and lots of oil money.
