I thought they'd had a 25th anniversary in the early 1990s, which would put its beginnings in the 60s, but happy to be corrected on that. I believe Joe Beard was one of its leading lights early on. That was before my time; I first came across Joe at Poynton, late 1980s, probably supporting Maddy Prior and Rick Kemp I think. Poynton had been one of the country's best known folk clubs, but even by then it was well into its decline. Don't know about the Crown down the road; there's not been much music there for a good while. You're probably right that Granny's folk club at the Blossoms was simply the Blossoms Folk Club by the 1980s, once Joe had moved on.
