When in Ireland I've noticed that their lifeboats have the same livery and crest as in the UK, that is R.N.L.I., with the "R" standing for "Royal". Given the effort that went into gaining independence, why is this? I'm guessing it remained after independence (like the Irish rugby team), perhaps because of economies of scale or because they "share" the Irish Sea/ wr
