THE FIRST 'NO FRILLS' COMMUNITY ARTS CONFERENCE, Saturday October 14th, 2006 at my place in Gilberdyke, near Brough. Meeting at 10am for coffee, 10.30 start – 4pm finish (then a session – bring your instruments and voices if you can stay on for a while) This day is aimed at professional artists / workshop leaders who are involved in performance and workshop situations in the community in the fields of music, art, dance and drama. I feel we all need to get together! The conference will take place at Lakeside Studios at my place in Gilberdyke. (my address is below; directions will be sent when bookings are confirmed). All unnecessary expenses have been thrown out the window. This is a forum to discuss relevant issues, to meet like-minded creative people, to network and find out what is going on in your locality. The conference has no agenda yet or any guest speakers (any volunteers or ideas?) but there is room on the application form below to make suggestions. This is your conference so make use of it! Fees for workshops/concerts – Price V's Experience? Promoters – How many performance opportunities are there? Funding? What is it? Your experience?
