I found the song on Washboard Hank's album "Donkeys and Tire Fires". There are no album notes, but as I mentioned in an earlier thread, I believe this is a parody of "Blood of the Lamb." Washboard's song has only one verse, but several different choruses. Are you Scrubbed on the Washboard of the Lord AUTHOR: Washboard Hank CHORUS 1: Are you scrubbed (are you scrubbed) On the board (on the board) Are you scrubbed on the washboard of the Lord? As you stickhandle up to Heaven Will they shout, "He shoots, he scores!"? Are you scrubbed on the washboard of the Lord? Does your life here on Earth seem low and mean (low and mean)? Has the sword and stain of sin made your soul unclean? Take your dirty laundry to God's holy Laundromat; It'll make your soul as spotless as a good guy's Stetson hat. CHORUS 2: Are you scrubbed (are you scrubbed) On the board (on the board) Are you scrubbed on the washboard of the Lord? As you plummet straight to Hell Can you pull that ol' rip cord? Are you scrubbed on the washboard of the Lord? CHORUS 3: Are you scrubbed (are you scrubbed) On the board (on the board) Are you scrubbed on the washboard of the Lord? Is your soul as bright and shiny As a brand new fancy Ford Are you scrubbed on the washboard of the Lord? (repeat 1st chorus)
