Man oh man... what a page to stumble upon (thanks you Marja!)

I have been listening to Alex' records (well, some of them) for a year or two now, they have totally blown me away, and I really hate the fact that I have never seen him perform. His records are great, and I hear over and over again that his live act was far better - even if there was a wee bit of booze involved at times.

I want to know more about Alex - his life, his music, his charisma - and, well, I have written a song about that.
I have put it on the internet as well, so feel free to have a listen:

No surprise that I also recorded his 'Been On The Road', but before you listen to that, please bear in mind that I do not think that my version can touch Alex' original. I just wanted to record it because I love it. That's all.

It gets worse, though. I'm a garage punk rocker, have been so for twenty years now, and it's only recently that I am returning to my acoustic roots.
Please don't think I'm taking the piss but I have recorded Alex' song in a garage rock way - because that's in my blood as well. All I can say is, I hope he appreciates it looking down.

There should be someone gathering all these wonderful stories about Alex and turn it into a website, a book, anything.
Maybe I'll launch such a website and see if it can grow with the help of people who DID know Alex.

For now, this thread has really made my day.
No... my week!

Cheers... hell yeah!
