Just in passing I remember watching a televsion programme many years ago about one of the West Indian islands. I cannot remember the name, but what amazed me was the fact that every one of the people interviewed spoke with a pure Irish accent and even used some Irish dialect. A few of them stated that they were the descendents of the people that Cromwell had transported there. Also a good few of my colleagues at work in past years were native to the West Indies and had names like Tyrell and Burke to quote as examples.
