Being housebound for the moment, I was able to watch most of the Adelaide Test live, Quite seriously, England ahould consider whether better players in UK should be airlifted ASAP. It's hard to make sense of: 1/ Monty - can't get a game yet Pietersen keeps getting cameos to fill in for Giles 2/ Jones - if you want to beat Australia you play your best keeper. Sadly, you ain't him 3/ Harbison - when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. In your case, a village green on a Sat afternoon seems appropriate - Test Cricket doesn't. But the most brutal truth is: One team walked out on the ground today with the belief they could win. The other thought they could get a draw by occupying the crease. The result is historic for Australia and catastrophic for England. Is there a English player or a supporter of the Barmy Army who would not (if legal) have at least wagered on a draw after Day 2?? Wounds like today take a long time to heal & even longer to be forgotten Dave
