It amazed me after the trial how public opinion about his guilt followed racial lines. If his wife was black would he have been found guilty? If he was white and his wife black what would have been the opinion then. If he were not a sports icon would most care? Perhaps too many innocent blacks have been condemmed without a fair trial so some see this as a payback, but do two wrongs make a right? Very subjective questions but did the system fail and why? What have we learned from this, if anything?
