I'm astonished that "Blue Mountain" made this list as much as it has. I had no idea that the popularity of this "Utah" tune had spread out across the country. I learned the song about 20 years ago from a field recording in the Austin Fife archives residing at Utah State University. If anyone is passing through the southern Utah town of Monticello, stop at the city park. On the south side of the park are mounted some tubes which, when looked through, will focus your eyes on the "horse head" mentioned in the song. This is a natural feature of the mtn. and is quite interesting. I believe "Blue Mtn." is sort of the unofficial anthem of south-eastern Utah! Mike Iverson
