That's good. I hadn't thought of that exactly. If a lead singer or a harmony singer gets ahead or behind, in a song with moving harmonized parts, the resulting sound can be incongruous with the harmonic convention of the time, as well as having a discombobulating effect. WWSS?: What would Shakespeare say?
