I know this song from an LP-recording Port of Call (Kieran Halpin). It is sung by Tom McConville ( I think). Later on I found out that it is also known by the name of " she wears the britches". I know other versions of Malinky, John Lyons, its an Irish traditional as far as I know, but I cant find anything about its origin. Not even in DT!! Or...didnt I look in the right places, with the right eyes? Anyone?
