Hi There We have an excellent evening of entertainment at the Abbey Inn, Newlay, Leeds, next Monday (8 Jan) featuring Three Score & Ten who are an exciting traditional trio whose experience and enthusiasm give them a dynamism that would shame a band who were only One Score & Three; and also Abbey (and Otley Folk Club) regulars Peter, Gordon and Mick (who must be on loan fron Dave Dee, Dozy & the gang!) who have a superb repertoire of contemporary folk, written by the likes of Ewan Carruthers and Dougie McClean, with the odd trad number to keep us on our toes. These trios are very different yet complement each other perfectly so it WILL be a tremendous (completely acoustic) occasion. All we need to add to the mix is an enthusiastic audience. Which is where you come in! Please do try and come to the Abbey if you can. It kicks off at 8pm and is free! (Some people are put off, strangely enough, if there's not a door charge, fearing that the pub will be full of drunken louts heckling incessantly. All I can say is, this has not yet happened at any of our free shows and that Peter the Landlord is a strong enough character to deal with the situation should any ne'er-do-wells turn up!)
