I didn't see the Hogmanay thing, but I did see home on French TV looking rather hanging.
I don't think it is fair to say he has no talent, his voice is very good(maybe not when he's been drinking too much, but a lot of 19 year old do get a pissed on New Years Eve, addmittidly it s better if they don't do it on the telly) and his song Last Request is beautiful. The other songs on his album have an almost McGowan like quality of lyrical directness, and an sort of proud immaturity that celebrates being young and carefree.
As for hype, it's nice to see someone who can do a little more than wriggle around in very little clothing getting a bit of hype.
I just hope that the music machine doesn't mash the poor lad to a plulp.
