Right... Liz the Squeak in particular... Some 30 years ago I had the pleasure of sitting in a Lakeland farm kitchen , some 3 feet from Bill Clifton and mandolin legend Red Rector, recording their version of said tune, very, very live!! I was knocked out by the quality of it...played with so much feeling. It still chokes me , even today!! If you've ever heard of Red Rector, I sincerely hope he is not on your list of "smarmy gits with mandolins"!! Anyways, anybody good enough to play it on mando earns the right to be smarmy, in my book!! Regards to all.... Spot :-)
