Used to live near 'em. By & large, some of the best folk around to have as neighbors. & THEY often have an excellent sense of humor... For example, what goes cloppety clop clop, cloppety clop clop; BANG!, BANG!; cloppity, clop clop, clop , clop, clop,... Give up? An Amish drive-by-shooting (Genuine Amish Country joke.) On the other hand, a shy but promising young woman singer-song writer who grew up Amish, w/ the prospect of living that way, wrote sometimes funny, but very telling, & painful, songs abt it. The woman's perspective in some of the poorer, more isolated Amish communities is potentially rather grim.. Cheers, BK
