I met David at the Press Room about 15 years ago. We were friends ever since, and he was very kind to me. We had Christmas together in 2006, and he struggled with whether he should go for the 2nd round of chemo. The doses were more than double, the first time around.   I was amazed at how well he seemed to accept the fact that he might not live even a year. He managed to still call me and ask how I was. I miss him.
